Joan Miró (1893 - 1983) was een van de meest invloedrijke kunstenaars van de twintigste eeuw. De Catalaanse grootmeester doorbrak artistieke grenzen door onder andere schilderkunst te verweven met poëzie. Zijn surrealistische voorstellingen zitten vol mysterieuze tekens en symbolen. Deze onbegrensde verbeeldingskracht kenmerkt ook Miró’s sculpturen.

Joan Miró (1893 - 1983) was one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. The Catalan master broke artistic boundaries, by merging painting with poetry. His surrealistic representations are filled with mysterious signs and symbols. This unbound creativity also characterizes the sculptures which Miró created.

Ron Mueck

Ron Mueck is bekend geworden om zijn enorm realistische sculpturen en zijn spel met schaalvergroting en -verkleining. In Museum Voorlinden is een retrospectief van deze Australische kunstenaar te zien.

Australian artist Ron Mueck is famous for his realistic and intimate sculptures that convey universal human experiences and feelings. At Museum Voorlinden (Wassenaar NL) you can see very early and recent work, often monumentally large or surprisingly small.

Jan Schoonhoven

De tentoonstelling Lothar Wolleh ziet Jan Schoonhoven. Meesters in ritme en licht in Museum Prinsenhof Delft vertelt het verhaal van een buitengewone vriendschap tussen de Delftse beeldend kunstenaar Jan Schoonhoven en de Düsseldorfse fotograaf Lothar Wolleh.

Jan Schoonhoven (Delft 1914-1994) geldt als dé Delftse meester van de twintigste eeuw. Als lid van de Nul-groep (gelieerd aan de internationale ZERO-beweging) behoort hij in de jaren zestig tot de Europese avant-garde en wordt hij al bij leven internationaal geroemd en geprezen.

With the images of photographer Lothar Wolleh, you meet Jan Schoonhoven (1914-1994).
He became world-famous with his sculptural reliefs and works on paper.
For nearly 40 years, Schoonhoven worked on developing his reliefs (made of papier-mâché, paper and cardboard) alongside his job as a civil servant at the Dutch Post Office.

Gormley onder de bomen

Museum Voorlinden wijdt een groot deel van het museum aan één kunstenaar: Britse kunstenaar Antony Gormley. Met zijn sculpturen, installaties en kunst in de openbare ruimte onderzoekt Gormley de relatie tussen het menselijk lichaam en de ruimte om ons heen. De overzichtstentoonstelling GROUND is binnen en buiten te zien. Hieronder een indruk van de beelden in de bossen en duinen rond het museum.

Museum Voorlinden in Wassenaar NL displays the works of Antony Gormley. The British artist is renowned worldwide for his sculptures, installations and public works that explore the relationship between the human body and the space around us. Alexander Calder

De Amerikaanse Alexander Calder (1898-1976) is een van de grootste vernieuwers uit de moderne kunst en een pionier van de kinetische kunst. Hij is de eerste die sculpturen van hun sokkel haalt en ophangt, waardoor ze lijken te zweven in de lucht.
De tentoonstelling Calder Now! in Kunsthal Rotterdam toont de invloed van Alexander Calder op de hedendaagse kunst.

The American artist Alexander Calder (1898-1976) was one of the great innovators in modern art and a pioneer of kinetic art. He was the first to take sculptures from their pedestals, suspending them in mid-air. Included in the exhibition are his iconic mobiles and stabiles, as well as motorized and sonorous sculptures.The exhibition Calder Now! at Kunsthal Rotterdam NL shows Alexander Calder’s influence on contemporary art.
