David Hockney

Kunstmuseum Den Haag presenteert in 2026, in samenwerking met Tate, de grote overzichtstentoonstelling London Calling. Voor het eerst in Nederland worden hoogtepunten van de naoorlogse Britse schilderkunst in een overzicht getoond – schilderijen van onder meer Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud, R.B.Kitaj, David Hockney en Paula Rego. 

 

In 2026, Kunstmuseum Den Haag presents London Calling. Representing the first major survey of its kind in the Netherlands, the exhibition brings together highlights of postwar British figurative painting, including works by Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud, David Hockney R.B.Kitaj and Paula Rego. Organised in collaboration with Tate, London Calling offers a snapshot of twentieth century London.

Maria Roosen

Stedelijk Museum Schiedam bracht in 2026 een eerbetoon aan kunstenaar Maria Roosen en haar oeuvre dat meer dan veertig jaar beslaat. Haar werk gaat over het leven en zijn vergankelijkheid.

“Mijn werk gaat altijd over de verbeelding van hoe ik dingen heb waargenomen of gebeurtenissen die ik wil verbeelden. Daar zoek ik het enige juiste materiaal voor, soms in aquarel, dan glas, hout of textiel.” 

 

It is impossible to imagine the Dutch artworld without Maria Roosen. Her work explores themes of growth, blossoming, fertility, love, and transience and is frequently shown during group exhibitions focusing on the female perspective.

Maria Roosen: “In the beginning of my art practice it was absolutely not done for artists to say that their work had evolved from their intuition. It was dismissed as art for women. The fact that today there is more space and acceptance for this is wonderful, but at the same time also a dire necessity.”

De tentoonstelling Kawase Hasui (1883-1957): De Verbeelding van Japan in het Japanmuseum Sieboldhuis in Leiden is gewijd aan deze meester van de 20e-eeuwse Japanse landschapsprenten. De tentoonstelling toont zeldzame vroege werken, posters en illustraties die Hasui's meesterschap in de Shin Hanga stijl benadrukken. 

 

Japanmuseum SieboldHuis in Leiden presents the enchanting exhibition “Kawase Hasui. Capturing the Soul of Japan.” The landscapes of Hasui (1883–1957), a master of printmaking, reveal a world full of atmosphere, tradition, and beauty.

Discovering Ancient Egypt is terug in Nederland! Deze reizende tentoonstelling was vanaf 2020 in twaalf steden in Japan, Zuid-Korea en Australië te zien en werd bezocht door meer dan anderhalf miljoen bezoekers. Na vijf jaar keerde de expositie terug naar Nederland.

Discovering Ancient Egypt has returned to the Netherlands! Previously shown in twelve cities in Japan, South Korea and Australia, this touring exhibition has attracted more than 1.5 million visitors since 2020. Five years on, the exhibition is returning to the Netherlands.
