Kishio Suga

Where Both Sides Meet, de eerste Nederlandse solotentoonstelling van de Japanse kunstenaar Kishio Suga (1944) in Cobra Museum Amstelveen.  Hij stelde dat kunst ontstaat waar de werelden van beweging (zoals mensen) en stilte (zoals stenen) elkaar raken, waardoor ruimte ontstaat voor reflectie en verwondering.

Where Both Sides Meet, the first Dutch solo exhibition of the Japanse artist Kishio Suga (1944) in Cobra Museum Amstelveen near Amsterdam.
He surmised that art arises where the worlds of movement (such as people) and silence (such as stones) meet, creating space for reflection and wonder. Let materials speak in their own language – raw, temporary, fragile; let things be.

Was een tentoonstelling in Kunstmuseum Den Haag. 
Norbert Schwontkowski (1949-2013) is misschien wel een van de best bewaarde geheimen van Duitsland, maar langzaam verwerft zijn poëtische werk ook buiten zijn geboorteland steeds meer bewonderaars. Geïnspireerd door het zen boeddhisme waar hij op een van zijn reizen naar Azië mee in aanraking is gekomen zoekt hij naar de esthetiek van het moment.

Norbert Schwontkowski (1949-2013) is perhaps one of Germany’s best kept secrets. Yet these days his poetic work is gradually attracting more and more admirers outside his homeland. Inspired by Zen Buddhism, which he discovered on trips to Asia, he would seek the aesthetic of the moment, creating work that seems to touch upon a story, without ever telling us how it ends.
