Aelbert Cuyp

Idyllische landschappen met ruiters en koeien in nevelachtig zonlicht. Een tentoonstelling in Dordrechts Museum over Dordrechts beroemdste schilder Aelbert Cuyp (1620-1691) : 'In het licht van Cuyp. Aelbert Cuyp & Gainsborough – Constable – Turner'.  De tentoonstelling belicht de impact van Aelbert Cuyp op de Britse landschapschilderkunst en toont ook uitgebreid werk van Britse schilders die zich door Cuyp lieten inspireren.

The exhibition about Dordrecht’s most famous painter Aelbert Cuyp (1620-1691) is on view at the Dordrechts Museum. In the Light of Cuyp: Aelbert Cuyp & Gainsborough – Constable – Turner examines the impact of the Dutch master on British landscape painting. The exhibition also provides a broad overview of works by British painters inspired by the Dutch artist.

toont ‘Sōsaku hanga. Creatieve prentkunst uit Japan’. Zo'n honderdvijftig werken van de sōsaku hanga-beweging tonen de ontwikkeling van de ‘creatieve prentkunst’ in Japan. Voor het eerst in Europa wordt er een tentoonstelling gewijd aan deze stroming waarbij de creatieve autonomie van de Japanse prentkunstenaars centraal staat.

Alexander Calder

De Amerikaanse Alexander Calder (1898-1976) is een van de grootste vernieuwers uit de moderne kunst en een pionier van de kinetische kunst. Hij is de eerste die sculpturen van hun sokkel haalt en ophangt, waardoor ze lijken te zweven in de lucht.
De tentoonstelling Calder Now! in Kunsthal Rotterdam toont de invloed van Alexander Calder op de hedendaagse kunst.

The American artist Alexander Calder (1898-1976) was one of the great innovators in modern art and a pioneer of kinetic art. He was the first to take sculptures from their pedestals, suspending them in mid-air. Included in the exhibition are his iconic mobiles and stabiles, as well as motorized and sonorous sculptures.The exhibition Calder Now! at Kunsthal Rotterdam NL shows Alexander Calder’s influence on contemporary art.

Los Desastres de la Guerra

Tussen 1808 en 1814 staan de Spanjaarden, Portugezen en Britten tegenover de Fransen onder het bewind van Napoleon. Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes  (1746-1828) beeldt in zijn serie 'Los Desastres de la Guerra' (de verschrikkingen van de oorlog) de gebeurtenissen tijdens deze oorlog af. 

Between 1808 and 1814 the Spanish, Portuguese and English fought Napoleon’s France in the Peninsular War. In the first part of Goya’s series of prints we witness the scenes of war: wounded soldiers, rapes, executions and mutilated corpses.

In de tentoonstelling De wereld volgens Roger Ballen word je onderdeel van Ballens schepping: een totaalkunstwerk waarin installaties, video’s en tekeningen een zinsbegoochelend verbond zijn aangegaan met zijn fotografie van de afgelopen 50 jaar. Fotomuseum Den Haag transformeert tot een waarachtig ‘Ballenesque’ theater.
