MATTHEW WONG / VINCENT VAN GOGH

In het Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam de eerste overzichtstentoonstelling van de Chinees-Canadese kunstenaar Matthew Wong (1984-2019), voor wie Vincent van Gogh een bron van inspiratie was.  Een bijzondere tentoonstelling met kleurrijke en expressieve kunstwerken.

Sofonisba Anguissola

Italiaanse renaissanceschilder Sofonisba Anguissola (ca. 1532–1625) is een van de meest getalenteerde portretkunstenaars van de Italiaanse zestiende eeuw.
Ze had een prachtige  solotentoonstelling in Rijksmuseum Twenthe, Enschede.

Zo schrijft Giorgio Vasari, de bekende Italiaanse kunstenaarsbiograaf, in zijn Le vite de’ più eccellenti pittori, scultori e architettori uit 1568 dat de figuren op Anguissola’s portretten zo levensecht lijken, dat ze lijken te ademen. Dit compliment werd vaker gegeven, maar was vooralsnog voorbehouden aan haar mannelijke voorgangers en collega’s, zoals Jan van Eyck of Leonardo da Vinci.

Italian Renaissance painter Sofonisba Anguissola (ca. 1532–1625) is one of the most talented portrait painter of the 16th century. She was on display at a gorgeous exhibition at  Rijksmuseum Twenthe, Enschede NL.
