Pieter de Hooch

Samen met Johannes Vermeer wordt Pieter de Hooch (1629 - na 1679) beschouwd als de belangrijkste Delftse meester uit de Nederlandse Gouden Eeuw. In Museum Prinsenhof Delft is de allereerste overzichtstentoonstelling in Nederland te zien van de 17de-eeuwse schilder Pieter de Hooch.  Zijn mooiste binnenplaatsen en interieurs keren terug naar de stad waar ze bijna 400 jaar geleden zijn geschilderd.

The first retrospective exhibition in the Netherlands of the famous 17th-century painter Pieter de Hooch (1629 - after 1679) is presented at the Museum Prinsenhof Delft. Together with Johannes Vermeer, Pieter de Hooch is widely considered to be the most celebrated Delft master of the 17th century. His most beautiful courtyards and interiors will return to the city where they were painted almost 400 years ago.

Narrow House

Narrow House in de Oude Kerk Delft.

In de Oude Kerk in Delft is tot en met 16 februari 2020 een kunstwerk te zien in de vorm van een huis van 16 meter lang en 7 meter hoog. Het gaat om het absurdistische ontwerp Narrow House van de Oostenrijker Erwin Wurm, dat hij ook toonde op de Biënnale van Venetië.  Nadat het in Delft te bezoeken is geweest, verhuist het naar de West Collection in het Amerikaanse Philadelphia.

Narrow House is an artwork by Austrian artist Erwin Wurm. This monumental sculpture is an absurd version of his parental house (16 metres long, 7 metres high and only 138 cm wide). Enter the house and discover how the interior from the bathroom to the kitchen has been squeezed and distorted completely. Narrow House is standing in the Old Church which gives a extraordinary contrast between the majestic gothic architecture with the stained glass windows and the distorted bourgeois prefab house.

De tentoonstelling Cyprus – eiland in beweging in het Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Leiden, beschrijft de archeologische rijkdom en cultuur van het eiland Cyprus, al vroeg een belangrijk kruispunt van oude beschavingen in de Middellandse Zee.

tells the remarkable story of an island with over 12,000 years of history and culture. Cyprus was one of the most important hubs of ancient cultures in the Mediterranean.
