In het Utrechtse museum Museum Catharijneconvent vertoont de tentoonstelling "In de ban van de Middeleeuwen" zeldzame middeleeuwse meesterwerken uit drie absolute topcollecties: Kasteel de Haar, Kasteel Huis Bergh en Museum Catharijneconvent.

Maria Magdalena

Maria Magdalena is een tentoonstelling van het Catharijneconvent in Utrecht.
Ze is een mysterieuze en inspirerende vrouw van uitersten. Al ruim 2000 jaar houdt ze de gemoederen bezig.  Maria Magdalena heeft vele gezichten:  kroongetuige van Jezus opstanding, zondares, feminist.
Ze wordt geassocieerd met de vermenging van seksualiteit, sensualiteit en zonde.
En was ze nu wel of niet getrouwd met Jezus?

Mary Magdalene is an exhibition of Museum Catharijnenconvent in Utrecht NL.
She is a woman of extremes. That has given rise to a multiplicity of interpretations: a wealth of representations, conspiracy theories and controversies.  The exhibition displays the rich, paradoxical and constantly evolving imagery surrounding this mysterious biblical figure. From the time of the New Testament to the present day, Mary Magdalen has proved to be an inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists.
