Museum Voorlinden toont het werk van twee van de belangrijkste kunstenaars van de twintigste eeuw, Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) en Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966).
De twee kunstenaars hadden een enorme waardering voor elkaars werk en ontwikkelden een bijzondere vriendschap, ondanks een leeftijdsverschil van twintig jaar. Museum Voorlinden toont de verrassende overeenkomsten tussen de twee kunstenaars en de manier waarop ze elkaar inspireerden.

Museum Voorlinden in Wassenaar NL presents the work of two of the most important artists of the twentieth century, Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) and Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966). 
The two groundbreaking artists appreciated each other’s work and developed a special bond, despite an age difference of twenty years. Museum Voorlinden shows the surprising similarities between the two artists and the way they inspired

Dark Uncles

Dark Uncles van Klaas Rommelaere is een tentoonstelling in 38 CC, een galerie in Delft.

Met een stoet gigantische dubbelgangers brengt Klaas Rommelaere een ode aan alle mensen die hem hebben beïnvloed. Bij 38CC is het werk van deze Vlaamse kunstenaar voor het eerst in Nederland te zien. De reusachtige poppen, Dark Uncles, verwijzen naar personen uit zijn directe omgeving. Net als de getoonde wandkleden, banieren en pilaren zijn ze vol met details geborduurd in kruissteekjes. Die details refereren op hun beurt aan karakters, herinneringen en verhalen. Samen zijn ze ‘een middel tegen het vergeten.

Dark Uncles by Belgian artist Klaas Rommelaere is an exhibition in 38 CC,
a gallery in Delft, Holland. 

With a procession of gigantic doubles, Klaas Rommelaere pays tribute to all the people who influenced him. At 38CC, the work of this Flemish artist can be seen for the first time in the Netherlands. The gigantic dolls, Dark Uncles, refer to people from his immediate environment. Like the tapestries, banners and pillars shown, they are full of details embroidered in cross-stitches. Those details in turn refer to characters, memories and stories. Together they are 'a remedy against forgetting.

Artimisia

Rijksmuseum Twenthe toont een tentoonstelling rond het leven en werk van barokschilder Artemisia Gentileschi (1593-na 1654). Zij was één van de belangrijkste vertegenwoordigers van de Italiaanse schilderkunst uit de zeventiende eeuw. Als vrouw manifesteerde zij zich in een mannenwereld, zonder zich te conformeren. Daarom wordt zij in latere tijden een symbool van de strijd tegen het patriarchaat.

Rijksmuseum Twenthe in Enschede NL displays a spectacular exhibition on the life and work of Baroque painter Artemisia Gentileschi (1593-after 1654). She was one of the most important representatives of Italian painting of the seventeenth century. As a woman, she manifested herself in a man's world, without conforming. That is why in later times she became a symbol of the struggle against patriarchy.
