Bridget Riley

Met grote helderheid en precisie werkt de Britse kunstenaar Bridget Riley (1931) al ruim vijftig jaar aan haar oeuvre met kleurrijke doeken en optische effecten.
Gemeentemuseum Den Haag brengt een overzicht met een focus op ‘de curve’, de golfbeweging die telkens terugkeert in haar werk: The Curve Paintings. 1961-2014.

With great clarity and precision, British artist Bridget Riley (b. 1931) has crafted a body of work over more than fifty years with colourful canvases and optical effects.
Gemeentemuseum Den Haag shows a retrospective, focusing on ‘the curve’, a pictorial motif that has constantly recurred throughout her career: The Curve Paintings. 1961-2014.

New Babylon

Een wereld zonder grenzen. Mensen die niet hoeven te werken, maar vrij zijn om te spelen en te reizen. Constant Nieuwenhuys (1920 – 2005) verwerkte zijn ideeën over een nieuwe wereld in zijn projekt New Babylon. Te zien in Gemeentemuseum Den Haag.

In het Mauritshuis Den Haag toont kunstenaar Vik Muniz deze zomer zijn Verso’s. Samen met zijn team maakt hij heel nauwkeurig de achterkanten na van de wereldberoemde schilderijen zoals Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Starry Night van Van Gogh en Vermeers Meisje met de parel.

This summer, the exhibition VERSO of Brazilian artist Vik Muniz in Museum Mauritshuis The Hague reveals not the fronts of world famous paintings, like Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Van Gogh’s Starry Night or Vermeer's The Girl with a Pearl Earring, but their backs.

Aan het begin van de zomer

Aan het begin van de zomer is in het Noorse Tyinholmen de winter nog volop te zien.
Tyinholmen ligt bij Lake Tyin aan het begin van Jotunheimen Nationaal Park, Noorwegen.

At the beginning of the summer is near Lake Tyin the winter stil present. Tyinholmen is located
in an area on the north of mountain lake Tyin in Jotunheimen in Vang, Oppland, Norway.

 

Roni Horn

In De Pont in Tilburg is het fascinerende werk van kunstenaar Roni Horn te bezichtigen. Behalve fotowerken zijn er imposante glassculpturen, die wel vloeibaar lijken.
