Assisi

De Basiliek van Sint-Franciscus van Assisi staat op het graf van Franciscus. Hierop zijn twee kerken gebouwd: de benedenkerk (1228-1230) en de bovenkerk (1230-1253). De fresco's zijn van Giotto.

The Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi comprises two churches known as the Upper Church and the Lower Church. Frescoes by Giotto.

Oud Amelisweerd

Oud Amelisweerd is een landhuis in Utrecht. Pas gerestaureerd zijn er de historische behangsels. Het huis herbergt ook het Armando museum. Hier een paar voorbeelden van het bijzondere Chinese behang.

Jacob Cornelisz van Oostsanen

Jacob Cornelisz van Oostsanen (1475-1533) is de vroegste kunstenaar uit Amsterdam die we bij naam kennen. Het Amsterdam Museum,  Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar en de Grote Kerk Alkmaar hebben een overzichtstentoonstelling van hem.

Jacob Cornelisz van Oostsanen (1475-1533) lived and worked in Amsterdam. His work shows the development from the late medieval style to the early Renaissance.

Filippo Lippi

Filippo Lippi (1406-1469) schilderde in de kathedraal van Spoleto een serie fresco’s met scenes uit het leven van Maria.

In the apse of the Spoleto Cathedral, Filippo Lippi painted from 1466-69  a fresco cycle, depicting scenes from the life of Virgin Mary.
