De onbekende Escher

 Museum Huis van het Boek in Den Haag toont een onbekende kant van de wereldberoemde kunstenaar M.C. Escher. In het Escher-jaar 2023 liet het museum een overzicht zien van werk dat Escher in opdracht maakte. Een deel van dit werk, waaronder originele tekeningen, was nog niet eerder voor het grote publiek te zien.
Het omvat boekillustraties, nieuwjaarskaarten, uitnodigingen, programmaboekjes, ex librissen, postzegels en bankbiljetten, afkomstig uit de collectie van het museum, particulieren en publieke instellingen.

Till February 4, 2024, House of the Book at Them Hague NL shows an unknown side of world-famous artist M.C. Escher. In the Escher year 2023, in which we commemorate his 125th birthday, the museum showed an overview of commissioned work by Escher in a small exhibition. Some of this work, including original drawings, has never been seen before by the general public. It includes, often strikingly colourful, book illustrations, New Year's greetings, invitations, program booklets, bookplates, stamps and banknotes, from private collections, House of the Book and other public institutions.
