The Basilica of Sant' Apollinare in Classe (near Ravenna) is an important monument of Byzantine art. It was erected at the beginning of 6th century and is known for its exceptional Byzantine mosaics.

 

Torcello

De kathedraal van Santa Maria Assunta in Torcello in de lagune van Venetië is in Byzantijnse stijl gebouwd. Gesticht in 639, uitgebouwd in de 10-14e eeuw. Bevat belangrijke mozaieken.

The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Torcello (in the Venetian Lagoon) is build in the Byzantine style. Founded in 639. Enlarged in the 10 - 14th century. The most important artistic element of the cathedral are the mosaics.
